WLM-300 Water Level Meter

The WLM-300 belongs to the WLM Series of self-contained, portable water level meters used to measure static water level in wells and small diameter samplers. The 300 m tape is wound on a reel and ends in a probe made of stainless steel and Teflon; when the probe reaches the water, the meter signals with a buzzer and a light.

The meter is built from lightweight aluminum and machined solid plastic components, a more rugged construction than injection-moulded plastic parts. The electronics module can be removed so that the whole reel and tape can be cleaned and decontaminated, either by full immersion or with water from a hose. The tape is graduated in feet, 1/10 ft and 1/100 ft and meets the accuracy standards US GGG-T-106E (U.S.A.) and EEC CLASS II (Europe).

An external sensitivity knob adapts detection to the water quality: clockwise for very pure water and counterclockwise for very salty water, which prevents a merely wet probe from being read as a probe in water. Distilled or deionised water cannot be detected at any setting.
