The OTO350 engine oil analyzer gives a quick condition check of gasoline or diesel engine oil. Place 3–5 drops in the sensor bowl and the result appears as a percentage in about 15 seconds, with Mineral and Synthetic modes, user calibration and a 3.7V 1000mAh rechargeable battery.
The OTO350 is an engine oil analyzer designed to test gasoline or diesel engine oil. After choosing the oil mode (Mineral or Synthetic), the user places 3–5 drops of oil in the bowl over the sensor, and the result appears on the 128*64 LED display in approximately 15 seconds.
The tester reacts primarily to the increase in acidity that occurs as oil degrades, while contaminants such as dirt, soot, water, antifreeze and metal particles also influence the reading. Because engine oil additives affect the result, engine oil dealers and manufacturers can calibrate the instrument themselves for each kind of oil, using an old oil that has reached its change limit and a new oil of the same kind.
Reading the result: 0–10 % new oil or oil newly changed; 10–20 % excellent / good oil quality; 20–30 % fair oil quality; 30–40 % oil change recommended; above 40 % immediate oil change and engine check recommended.
