The Wintact WT327D is a handheld infrared thermometer for fast, non-contact measurement of surface temperature from -50 °C to 950 °C (-58 °F to 1742 °F). It is the widest-range model of the Wintact WT327 series (WT327A/B/C/D) and is suited to hot, hazardous or hard-to-reach objects such as molten iron, flames and gas burners, as well as cold surfaces such as ice.

Above 0 °C the accuracy is ±1.5 °C or ±1.5 %, whichever is greater, and below 0 °C it is ±3 °C. The response time is 0.5 s (95 % response) over a 5–14 µm spectral band, while the 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio, adjustable emissivity (0.10–1.00, preset 0.95) and positioning laser help aim at the target spot.

Readings are shown on a colour LCD; "Hi"/"Lo" signals an out-of-range reading and "AH"/"AL" warns when the ambient conditions exceed the working limits. The thermometer runs on two 1.5 V AAA batteries, with a low-battery indicator below 2.5 V and automatic shutdown after about 7 seconds without operation.
