The Benetech GM1311 is a pen-type probe thermometer designed mainly for measuring food temperature. Its food-grade stainless steel probe is inserted directly into the product, and the reading appears on an LCD with a resolution of 0.1 °C across a measuring range of -50 to 300 °C (-58 to 572 °F).
Accuracy is ±1 °C from -10 to 100 °C, ±1.5 °C from 100 to 200 °C and ±2 °C over the rest of the range. The manufacturer lists refrigeration, food processing, industrial processing, home kitchen, water temperature and heating among its applications, and the catalogue carries the LFGB mark. It can be used to check cooking and grilling temperatures and is also applicable to rubber and plastic processing.
The instrument is powered by a single CR2032 button battery and has an overall size of 242.5 × 33 mm with a 149.5 × 4 mm probe rod. When measuring high-temperature objects, do not touch the probe by hand, to avoid scalding.
